Model railway in action… O gauge Great Western Railway branch.. wireless, with no pickups and running on rusty, oily track, controlled from an Android smartphone or tablet pc…. Lady Emily was first aired at Scalefour North on 21/22 April 2012 but she’s now back home in Tregorran, Cornwall…
Modelling details: “Lady Emily” is fictitious, but based on the GWR’s acquisition of the LB&SCR Terriers for the Weston, Cleveland and Portishead Railway. It is an Ace Models kit fitted with a Canon EN22 motor and Roxey 38:1 gearbox.
However, it is also the model chosen as the vehicle to run the prototype of the forthcoming “Protocab” wireless control system from Acc+Ess Limited, a new company based in the north of Scotland. Acc+Ess Protocab is planned for availability in late 2012.
“Tregorran” is an O gauge layout based on a branch from the Newquay to Chacewater line, diverging at Goonbell (suitably enhanced from a halt to a junction) down a 1:39 bank to the fictitious fishing village of Tregorran. Started in 2010, Tregorran is planned to be ready for exhibiting in 2013.
