The Railroad Evangelist Association Headquarters, scratch built by Renee. The building is an O scale model of the former L&N depot that existed many years ago at Paris Tennessee. This is her second model of this depot, the first was for an O scale modeler that took her over 10 months to actually build.
We decided to make the depot our rendition of the REA headquarters that never existed. We are members and contributors to the REA.
The depot has interior detailing in each room of the two floor building, including the conference room, a fellowship room where the Steve Seidler Jug Band is playing.
She has detailed the offices, rest room, stair well, and other details. The lights are two strips of soft white LED strips, they do not get hot and the light shines in every room.
The music is a collection of tunes from various artists, and it is played through a small speaker under the first floor with an MP3 player. .
The other buildings are scratch built by Renee except the downtown buildings, they were kits but also built and detailed by Renee. The Veteran’s Park was originally an architectural model for a memorial that came in second, so we put it on our layout.
The antique tractor show was built when a number of tractors became available from an estate sale. The Case steam traction engine was a gift from a friend, Mark Jordan. It was hand built from a kit that has over 400 white metal parts. Only 3 or 4 are known to have been built from this kit by Keith Wisman of Paris KY.
