1 minute in pictures of how I made my 00 gauge model railway lake using soft insulating wood that I carefully (be careful with knifes) carved to shape. Then I glued up some walls using a PVA glue/pulp mix using the offcuts. Then painted to seal, and then layed in some varnish as water.

Originally I made it 38 inches wide to cover a join in my track. I ended up covering the join with a fence, and then cut this lake in half to allow room for derelicts buildings.
